Three injured in the collision in Chiado were discharged and a young woman remains hospitalized

Three people injured in the collision in the Chiado area, in Lisbon, were discharged, while a young woman remains hospitalized at Hospital Santa Maria, in Lisbon, official hospital sources told Lusa this Saturday, February 21st. The Local Health Unit (ULS) São José said that two slightly injured people were taken to the General Multipurpose Emergency Room at Hospital São José, in Lisbon, who, after treatment, were discharged.

The institution said that, following the accident, the emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) at Hospital São José (HSJ) was activated, “having responded promptly”. ULS Santa Maria indicated, for its part, that two teenagers were treated in the emergency department, one of which was discharged and the other remains hospitalized, in stable clinical condition.

In a note sent at 00:45, an official PSP source indicated that the car went into a skid and ended up hitting a moped, running over five people. The car had reportedly been stolen moments before, and the driver of it, after the incident, fled on footsaid the PSP, who were trying to locate the suspect, already having his identification.

The collision on Rua Nova da Trindade, in the Chiado area, was alerted at 10:17 pm on Friday, a source from the Lisbon Firefighters Regiment told Lusa. To the The victims are four women and one man, two of whom were seriously injured and three were slightly injured.added a PSP source.

At 11:45 pm on Friday, a PSP source had told Lusa that the owner of the vehicle was at the scene of the accident and initial data indicated that the driver was not the owner and that the vehicle had been stolen. Members of the Road Accident Investigation Brigade of the PSP Traffic Division were deployed to the location, who took charge of the incident.
