Another 2600 buildings in Kiev were left without heating after Russian “massive attacks”

Another 2,600 residential buildings in Kiev were left without heating this Thursday, February 12th, following a new nighttime air attack by Russian forces on energy infrastructures across Ukraine, with 24 missiles and 219 drones. At least two people died, the Ukrainian president said, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The main target of the attacks “was the energy infrastructure in Kiev, Odessa and Dnipro”, he said, reporting “damage in the regions of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kiev and Kherson. In Kramatorsk, a drone hit a State Emergency Service building”, reported the head of state.

“The situation in the capital is difficult, many buildings remain unheated,” acknowledged Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, of the 24 long-range projectiles, 15 were shot down by anti-aircraft defenses, with the other nine ballistic missiles and 19 of the drones causing impacts in 13 different locations across the territory, namely in the regions of Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Odessa.

“After last night’s massive attacks, almost 2,600 new buildings were left unheated,” said the Ukrainian capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, adding that more than a thousand buildings were already unheated due to other recent bombings.
