Miami is going to the National Championship! The Hurricanes defeated Ole Miss 31-27 to escape the Fiesta Bowl and advance to the College Football Playoff semifinals. And it all came down to the final game.

During the final play, some clutch and some contact, no flag was thrown and Miami held on for the win. Quarterback Carson Beck grabbed the game-winning touchdown pass for 268 yards through the air and a touchdown pass. Click or click here to view final statistics.

Amazingly, Miami did not win the national title game in the ACC Championship, becoming the last team to finish 10th overall. The Hurricanes’ win also keeps the SEC from making the national championship game.
Miami will be the first team to play in the CFP Championship Game at Hard Rock Stadium on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricanes will play the winner of the second College Football Playoff — either No. 1 Indiana or No. 5 Oregon — in the Peach Bowl.
