The popular hard rock band has replaced its guitarist with a musician who has a decades-long relationship.
All That Remains have announced that Ken Susi, best known for playing guitar with Unearth and As I Lay Dying, will join the band on its 2026 tour. The first concert of the tour will be April 29 at Empire Live in Albany; tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.
Susi replaces Jason Richardson who left All That Remains in July after 7 years with the band. Richardson joined the band in 2018 following the death of co-founding guitarist Oliver “Oli” Herbert.
“I am incredibly honored to be joining All That Remains as their new guitarist,” said Susi declaration. “My relationship with this band goes back to the late 90’s when I first met Mike, Oli and Phil at underground gigs in Western Massachusetts. Those early days shaped a lot of who I am and coming back now really feels like a full circle.”
Singer Philip Labonte formed All That Remains with Herbert in 1998 after the singer had previously performed with Shadows Fall. Rhythm guitarist Mike Martin joined All That Remains shortly after the group recorded their debut album, “Behind Silence and Solitude” in 2002.
“I am also very honored to stand in for my late friend Oli Herbert. Oli was not only an extraordinary musician but also a close friend whose presence and influence will always be felt. His shoes can never truly be filled and I carry his spirit with me every time I pick up my guitar,” said Susi. “After decades of friendship, shared history and mutual support, it means everything to get on stage with this band and contribute to a project I truly believe in. I can’t wait to hit the road and share what we’ve been working on with you all. See you out there.”
All That Remains is a hard rock band known for their mix of melodic metalcore and heavy metal in songs such as “Two Weeks”, “What If I was Nothing”, “This Calling”, “The Air That I Breathe” and “Six”. Their 10th studio album ‘AntiFragile’ was released last year.
Labonte is the only original member in the group. The current lineup consists of Susi, Martin, bassist Matt Deis and drummer Anthony Barone.
Herbert was found dead in his home in Connecticut in 2018. As of 2021, his death was considered suspicious and still unsolved.
“There was no one who worked harder on guitar, music theory and music than Oli Herbert,” Labonte said WTNH in 2021.
Richardson, also known for working with bands such as Falling in Reverse and August Burns Red, said last year that he and All That Remains had agreed to “break up” as Richardson sought other opportunities. Richardson has described the split as amicable, and his former teammates have publicly expressed their support for his future projects.
“We love him and are grateful for the time, music and memories we’ve shared. We wish him nothing but success and happiness moving forward. We’re so excited to see what he has in store for the music world and we’re absolutely sure it’s going to blow our collective minds,” the band said in a statement. declaration in July.
The upcoming All That Remains tour will include support from Born of Osiris and Dead Eyes. The Albany concert is their only stop in New York State.
