The National Weather Service issued a snow forecast at 3:51 a.m. Friday for southeast Suffolk until 4:45 a.m.
“At 3:50 a.m., a band of snow was along a line extending from near Mattituck to 6 miles north of Montauk Point and moving east at 20 miles per hour,” the weather service said.
Locations affected by the alert include Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, Noyack, Montauk Point, East Hampton, Hither Hills State Park, Springs, North Sea, Montauk, Water Mill, North Haven and East Hampton Airport.
According to the weather service, “Conditions can deteriorate quickly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snowy roads. Slow down and allow more time to reach your destination.”
