A firefighter was injured this Wednesday, February 4, after being run over while heading to the Monte Redondo corporation barracks, in the municipality of Leiria, by a driver who fled, said Civil Protection and GNR sources.
According to the Leiria Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard (GNR), “the firefighter was on her way to the barracks” and it was a “hit and run accident”.
The same source said he was slightly injured.
The Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Leiria Region said that the alert for the accident reached the authorities at 7:40 am and, in addition to the GNR, firefighters and the National Institute of Medical Emergency arrived at the scene.
