After being watched by more than 200 thousand people in Portugal and Brazil, the play The Heaven of Languageof Gregory Duvivierwill have a new European tour. Portugal is included in the itinerary, with five presentations in the country in March. The Brazilian promises that spectators will “leave the theater with the feeling that language, after all, is the most powerful territory”.

The dates are as follows: March 12th in Lisboa (Recreios Coliseum), March 13 in Madeira (Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater), March 16 in the Azores (Micaelense Coliseum), March 18 at Porto (Porto Ageas Coliseum) and March 25 in Évora (Garcia de Resende Theater).
“Throughout this tour, the show invites audiences from different countries to delve into a fun and deep reflection on language, communication, misunderstandings and the central place of words in the construction of thought, identity and human relationships”, highlights the event press release. The Brazilian defines the performance as a “poetic comedy”.
The piece is directed Luciana Paeswith original music by Pedro Aune and projections of Theodora Duvivier. The show “crosses stand-up comedy, spoken word poetry and dramaturgy, transforming the Portuguese language into its own stage”. The project is one of the comedian’s most special.
Brazilians define themselves as “obsessed” with the Portuguese language. “Gregório Duvivier has in the Portuguese language not only a homeland, but an obsession. Or, as young people say, a hyperfocus. After all, words have been an inexhaustible source of humor since the beginning. In the beginning was the Word, said God. And soon after came the agreement errors. The same God said: ‘Let there be light’. But who did I say to? And why?”
