The mayor of Sertã, Carlos Miranda, called for the mobilization of human and technical resources by the Government, given the high level of destruction on the ground, which exceeds 20/30 million euros in losses.
Contacted by Lusa, Calos Miranda, began by explaining that “The Government has to mobilize all means to provide support”.
“We don’t need food because there is no break in supply chains, what we need is human and technical resources on the ground to help us”, stated the mayor.
Although it is difficult to specify the total balance of losses at this time, Carlos Miranda has no doubt that they exceed 20/30 million euros.
For the mayor, “now, the main concern has been the electrical grid, because it is being rebuilt at a very slow speed”, highlighting the “excellent work done by the E-Redes teams”.
Calos Miranda explained that “the degree of destruction is immense and it is not possible for these teams to do all the work in a time frame that is reasonable for people”.
“The situation is very precarious and at this rate it will take weeks or months to restore normality,” said the mayor.
