André Ventura criticizes the Government for lack of action in the face of Storm Kristin

Presidential candidate André Ventura criticized the Government for not solving the problem of lack of tiles in areas affected by the Kristin depression. “This issue of roofs may seem like a nitpick, but for people who are living with this and seeing things getting worse, it’s not a nitpick. Yesterday I challenged the State to carry out a simple transport of tiles from the areas where they exist and are produced to the affected areas”highlighted Ventura in Braga, where he is campaigning.

“Result? Some people are doing it themselves, they are getting injured or dying.” For Ventura, it is “the obvious result of the State’s failure”.

Still not knowing what came out of the extraordinary Council of Ministers that took place this morning, Ventura considers that there are some fundamental things that the Government could do quickly. “A full and effective mobilization of the Armed Forces to help resolve this situation could be a decision taken by the Minister of Defense in conjunction with the Internal Administration.” Civil Protection responds to the Government, he stressed.

Furthermore, he defends the launch of a line of support financing that is “immediate, fast and without debt and bureaucracy” and says that “there is no reason for SIRESP to have failed this time”.

Given the weather forecasts for the next few hours, André Ventura says that the The Government must “guarantee that communications will work, that Civil Protection and military resources are alert and capable of reacting, and that we have hospitals and health services ready to face the situation”.

André Ventura visited the Braga Volunteer Fire Department this Sunday and has scheduled a rally at Arco da Porta Nova at 4 pm. He will have dinner with supporters in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
