At 1:06 a.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm warning in effect until 1 p.m. for South Herkimer, South Fulton, North Saratoga, West Schenectady, East Schenectady, South Saratoga, East Albany, West Rensselaer, East Rensselaer, East Columbia and North Fulton, as well as Montgomery County.
“Snow season. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches,” can be expected, according to the weather service. “Snow will taper off to snow showers and flurries by dawn.”
“Roads and especially bridges and overpasses will quickly become slippery and dangerous. Plan for slippery roads,” the weather service says. “If you must travel, keep a flashlight, extra food and water in your vehicle in case of emergency.”
