Pedro Amaral Jorge leaves the presidency of APREN after eight years

Pedro Amaral Jorge will step down as president of the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association (APREN) after eight years, the association announced this Monday, 16th.

APREN “will communicate information about the new leadership of the Association in a timely manner”, as indicated in a statement, adding that, until then, the normal functioning of the institution will be ensured by the management and its team.

The association highlighted that Pedro Amaral Jorge “played a decisive role in affirming APREN as a representative voice of the renewable energy sector in Portugal, contributing to strengthening the sector’s position in the public debate and promoting policies essential to accelerating the energy transition”.

He also thanked Pedro Amaral Jorge “for his dedication and energy”, with a “fundamental contribution in a particularly demanding and transformative period for the national energy transition”.

APREN has more than 200 members and is responsible for coordinating and representing the sector’s common priorities, as well as promoting renewable energy among all actors in the energy sector and civil society.
