The immigrant’s life during the war in Iran. What now?

Oil on the rise, gas station races. In Brazil, it costs R$ 800.00 to fill the tank. In Portugal we have already reached around 90 euros. Yes, dear readers, through simple analyzes like this, the exact purchasing power of a population can be measured.

Food prices soared. Fertilizer supply in the world depends on shipments that pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Are we close to a food crisis? President Donald Trump declares that the war is about to end with the US victory over Iran. Is this true?

Unfortunately, the narrative coming from America does not reflect reality. The conflict is far from over. It seems, on the contrary, that it is just the beginning. Lebanon and Syria have already become involved and Hezbollah incursions show this. Is Portugal a good place to be in this scenario? Let’s get to the facts.

A more stable economy is an advantage compared to Brazil. Whose political moment is on a collision course with the USA. Diplomatic crisis set in, with Minister Padilha’s refusal to even enter Panama at the request of the USA. The visa of the American agent on a recent visit to Brazil was cancelled.

Donald Trump demands the classification of organized crime groups as terrorists. And the Brazilian Government refuses this badge. It also refuses to send illegal immigrants to Brazil. Reinforcing the rift in diplomacy between countries. A USA irritated with Brazil because of the PIX, because of the PCC and the Red Command, and now with the greater coverage of China.

Brazil, an exempt country, ended up leaving its landmark in the place of the photo it intends to be in. And it doesn’t appear to be on the American side. A divided country, with elections in October and at a political moment in which the world is willing to put aside the flag of peace and move towards armed conflicts that were previously seen as mere threats.

Dear readers, what if, in a totally “hypothetical” world, there is an invasion of Brazilian territory with the justification of arresting leaders of organized crime, whose close relationship with several residents of Brasília, ends up leading to the meltdown of the Republic? Remember: It’s just a hypothesis. Imagine if the USA would be able to invade a so-called democratic country and define rules of power. Oops, it looks like it already happened! But let’s not talk about that.

In the end, Europe, in this little corner of the Atlantic called Portugal, remains a good place to be. Mainly because here diesel fuel to fill the tank costs less than 10% of the minimum wage, while on the other side of the Atlantic, in the land called Brazil, it already costs half that wage.
