US House releases videos of Clinton testimonies in Epstein case

The Oversight Committee of the United States House of Representatives announced on the afternoon of last Monday, March 2, the full version of the recordings of the statements given last week by Bill Clinton e Hillary Clinton as part of the investigation into the case Jeffrey Epsteinreported the BBC.

The videos, almost nine hours long, show moments of intense tension during the auditions behind closed doors. In one of the most striking episodes, Hillary Clinton almost left the session after being informed that a photo of her, captured inside the testimony room, had been leaked.

That’s enough for me. If you are doing this, that’s enough for me“, he stated. “You can accuse me of disrespecting Congress until the end of time”, added Clinton, who saw the session interrupted and later resumed.

Throughout their statements, both denied having prior knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.. Bill Clinton described himself as a “occasional acquaintance” of the former financier and stated that the relationship “ended years before his crimes became public”. “I did not witness Epstein’s crimes”, he declared.

Asked if Donald Trump should be called to testify, he replied: “That’s for you to decide. But he knew him well”he said, still remembering a conversation in the early 2000s, in which Trump reportedly told him: “We were friends and then we fell out over a real estate deal.”

Bill Clinton was also confronted with a photograph released by the Department of Justice that shows him in a jacuzzi next to a person with their face hidden. “I don’t think he knew the photograph was taken,” he said, saying he was “pretty sure” the image was captured in Brunei. When asked about the identity of the other person, he replied: “I don’t know who it is.”

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, rejected references to the conspiracy theory known as “Pizzagate” – already denied by the authorities and which alleged, without evidence, the existence of a pedophilia network linked to her political circle – classifying it as “completely fabricated” and “an absurd accusation”.

Although the names of the former president and his wife appear in investigation files released by US authorities, so far neither Clinton has been accused of any wrongdoing by Epstein’s victims.
