PJ arrests Portuguese man suspected of murder in Manchester in Lisbon

A 25-year-old Portuguese man suspected of crimes of qualified homicide and offenses against physical integrity, in November 2020 in Manchester, United Kingdom, was located in Lisbon and detained by the Judiciary Police (PJ), it was announced this Tuesday.

The man, who was wanted in the United Kingdom on suspicion of assaulting another man with a knife, causing his death, was located in Lisbon by the PJ through the Criminal Information Unit, he said in a released statement.

The suspect, at the time of the crimes, was a member of an organized gang, which participated in a violent confrontation, arranged via social media.

The two groups were involved in serious attacks, using knives, sabers, baseball bats and other instruments of aggression,

After committing the crimes, the suspect returned to Portugal, where he worked in construction, without being declared.
