The national airline of Saudi Arabia (Saudi Airlines) announced the cancellation and suspension of several international flights in Middle East after the increase in tensions derived from theattack by the United States and Israel against Iranprioritizing the passenger and crew safety.
Airline confirms suspension due to air safety
This Saturday, February 28, Saudi Airlines, through a statement on its official accounts, reported that, due to the evolution of the situation in the region after the “large-scale” attack that the United States and Israel launched against Iran – where explosions occurred in Tehran and other cities – flights have been canceled in accordance with aviation safety regulations.
And, after the events, several countries in the region imposed preventive airspace restrictionsincluding the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq, so flights had to be canceled and suspended.
The airline pointed out that The measure is taken to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crew.
Meanwhile, it was detailed that the Emergency Coordination Center of the company will continue monitoring events in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Affected routes and validity of the measure
According to information, flights to and from Amman, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Bahrain, Moscow and Peshawar were temporarily canceled due to ongoing events and in accordance with aviation safety standards.
These measures would be in force – according to the notice – until March 2 at 23:59 GMTalthough the airline warned that the period could be modified depending on the development of the situation.

Given the facts, Saudia indicated that the affected passengers are being notified directly through the contact details linked in their reservations.
