Andy Jassy, ​​CEO of Amazon, expressed on the social network X that he is “excited” about the “new strategic alliance” with OpenAI. He noted that developers and businesses are looking to run services based on OpenAI models on AWS, and that the collaboration will offer a stateful environment backed by the AI ​​firm’s technology.

Jassy added that AWS will be the exclusive third-party cloud provider for “OpenAI Frontier”, a platform aimed at organizations deploying and managing teams of artificial intelligence agents with enterprise-grade security.

Likewise, he indicated that OpenAI will bet on Amazon’s customized Trainium chips, which – according to him – offer a cost-benefit ratio between 30% and 40% higher than that of comparable GPUs, in order to boost its growth.

For its part, OpenAI reported that it reinforced its infrastructure through an agreement with Nvidia to ensure next-generation computing capacity. The pact contemplates the use of 3 gigawatts (GW) of dedicated inference capacity and 2 GW for training in “Vera Rubin” systems, which will be added to the infrastructure based on Hopper and Blackwell chips.
