A 96-year-old woman died on the morning of Monday, February 23, following a road accident involving the ambulance she was traveling in.
The accident was on Estrada Nacional 2, in the Chelote area, municipality of Faro, and involved the ambulance from the Tavira Firefighters Company and a light vehicle.
The two firefighters in the ambulance suffered injuries, one of them serious. According to CNN Portugal, they were both transported to Faro Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to the same source.
