A 34-year-old man was detained in Figueira da Foz by the Judiciary Police (PJ) on suspicion of several crimes of sexual abuse of two nieces, aged 8 and 12, this police organization announced this Saturday, February 14th.
In a statement, the Judiciary says that the suspect was detained in Figueira da Foz, through the management of the PJ Center, after an investigation that began with the complaint of abuse by the older child in a school context.
These abuses were “promptly communicated to the PJ, leading to the opening of an investigation and consequent efforts to collect evidence, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect”.
The detainee, the victims’ uncle, “took advantage of the close family relationship to subject them to the practice of significant sexual acts”, reads the statement.
The detainee will be present for the first judicial interrogation, to apply appropriate coercive measures.
