Third Suspect of Kidnapping in Lisbon Detained by the Judiciary Police

The Judiciary Police announced this Monday, March 16, the arrest of a man who will be the third member of a group of three people suspected of having kidnapped, assaulted and robbed three men in Lisbon in May 2023.

According to a PC statement, the three suspects approached three men, aged between 19 and 22, and drove them to an unoccupied house, on the outskirts of the capital.

“The victims were attacked and forced to make bank withdrawals using an ATM card, with four cell phones and a sum of money stolen”, says the PJ.

Two of the suspects, a 37-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, were arrested in 2023. This now detained man, aged 37, is “strongly indicted for co-authorship of several crimes”, namely “kidnapping, aggravated robbery with a firearm, theft of use of a vehicle, abuse of a guarantee card or card, device or payment data, possession of a prohibited weapon and drug trafficking”.

In addition to making this third arrest, the PJ also seized a firearm, various ammunition and a narcotic product.

The suspect was remanded in pre-trial detention.
