Portugal beats Georgia and wins the European Rugby Championship

This Sunday, March 15, the national rugby team won the 2026 European Championship by beating Georgia 19-17 in Madrid.

Portugal won the sport’s second most important European competition for the second time, after the historic Six Nations Tournament, and ended with a long dominance by the Georgians, who had won the last eight competitions. The wolves thus repeat the feat achieved in 2004, when they beat Romania.
