Citi and Deloitte close their offices in Dubai due to threats from Iran

This Wednesday, companies such as Citi and Deloitte asked their employees to evacuate their offices located in Dubai, after Iran issued a threat to attack banks linked to Israel and the United States in the Middle East.

Iranian threats to attack economic targets of its counterparts emerged after the press reported a series of overnight attacks that hit the facilities of an Iranian bank.

The offices of the American company Citi are located in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), along with many other Western companies. According to anonymous sources, other offices in the said center and in Oud Metha will also evacuate their employees.

For its part, the British company Deloitte confirmed to the international press that together with three other companies they decided to evacuate their facilities as a preventive measure. Likewise, the company PwC announced its closure of offices in several Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, as a precaution.

Since February 28, Dubai and other Gulf cities have received attacks from Iranian drones, due to the military offensive initiated by Israel and the United States in the Middle East region.
