A 28-year-old man was detained at Lisbon airport, on Sunday, March 1st, for transporting more than two kilos of drugs, hidden in his legs, from Brazil, the PSP said this Monday, 2nd.
In a statement, this police explained that the man who arrived at Humberto Delgado airport on a flight departing from São Paulo, Brazil, “presented incoherent statements regarding the reasons and conditions of the trip” and, therefore, was sent to inspection.
During the security search, the PSP, through the Airport Security and Border Control Division under the coordination of the National Foreigners and Borders Unit (UNEF), found several packages of cocaine “concealed in the lower limbs”, totaling 2,471 kilos.
The arrest took place at 4:40 pm on suspicion of the crime of drug trafficking, the man, of foreign nationality, was accused and subjected to an identity and residence permit, awaiting presentation for the first interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
