A corpse in an advanced state of decomposition was found in Tabuaço, in the district of Viseu, close to the home of Francisca Santos, 44, who was reported missing in June last year.
The information was given this Thursday, September 26th, by Morning Mailwhich cites a source from the GNR Public Relations office in Viseu, stating that inspectors from the Judiciary Police are on site.
“It is assumed that it is a woman’s because of her hair, but at this point, inspectors from the Judiciary Police (PJ) are already on the ground investigating. The body was found at the back of the Tabuaço cemetery by some people who were pruning plants”, the GNR told the daily.
Brazilian citizen Francisca Santos was last seen at home at around 11pm on June 20, 2025.
In statements to DN BrazilIn July last year, Antônio Santos, Francisca Santos’ brother said that “she was very happy” because she had obtained her residence permit and intended to stay in Brazil for a month with her family. The Brazilian, born in Maranhão, has lived in Portugal for almost four years.
