The elected President of the Republic, António José Seguro, and the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, met this Tuesday, February 24, for the first time after the presidential elections, at the National Palace of Queluz, for more than two and a half hours.
Luís Montenegro arrived at the Queluz National Palace, in the municipality of Sintra, district of Lisbon, shortly before 4pm and left at 6:40pm, without giving statements to journalists upon arrival or departure.
At the end of the meeting, António José Seguro accompanied the head of the PSD/CDS-PP Government to the door, but without leaving the palace where he has a work office until taking office as head of state, on March 9th.
According to a note released by the President-elect’s communications office on Monday, this Tuesday’s meeting was intended for the formal presentation of greetings from the Prime Minister and also from the Portugal Transformation, Recovery and Resilience (PTRR) program.
