Trump increases new global tariff from 10% to 15% after Supreme Court decision

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Saturday, February 21, that he will increase 15% new global tariff on imported goodsafter on Friday (20) having indicated that the rate would be 10%.

The decision comes in the wake of the United States Supreme Court ruling that declared previous measures imposed by the administration illegal.

In a post on his social network, Truth Social, Trump confirmed that the new rate takes effect “with immediate effect” and justified the change after a “thorough review” of the court’s decision.

The head of state stated that he will raise the “Worldwide Tariff” from 10% to “the fully permitted and legally tested level of 15%”.

In the same message, Trump once again attacked the Supreme Court, classifying the ruling as “ridiculous,” “poorly written,” and “extraordinarily un-American.” The court’s decision, made by six votes to three, concluded that the president exceeded his powers by imposing tariffs without congressional approval.
