French cyclist Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step), already winner of the inaugural stage, won this Saturday, February 21st, at the sprint the fourth and penultimate run of the Volta ao Algarve, while Spaniard Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek) held the lead.
Magnier completed the 175.1 kilometers that linked Albufeira to Lagos in 3:58.38 hours, beating the Belgian Jordi Meeus (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), second place, and the Israeli Oded Kogut (NSN), third, to the finish line.
Overall, the Spaniard Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek) continues to lead, now with a total time of 12:31.21 hours, with the Frenchman Paul Seixas (Decathlon) in second, at 14 seconds, and the Portuguese João Almeida (UAE Emirates) in third, at 44.
The fifth and final stage of the Volta ao Algarve takes place on Sunday, between Faro and Malhão (Loulé), after covering 148.4 kilometers.
