A fight between Sporting and Benfica fans before the classic between the two clubs at the João Rocha pavilion, in the Futsal League, forced an intervention from the PSP this Thursday, February 19th.
The incidents were verified near the José Alvalade Stadium, with an official source from the PSP telling DN that “numerous individuals were intercepted” and consequently the fight ended, with “public order and tranquility restored to the location”.
The PSP also revealed that it is carrying out “police investigations” regarding this incident, therefore announcing more details for later.
Sporting and Benfica face each other in the 16th round of the Futsal League, and in four days the two teams will meet again, at the Luz pavilion, in the Champions League.
