Historically, the dark world of Twitter is characterized by a dark blue backgroundan aesthetic that I kept even after the red social network was bought by tycoon Elon Musk.
However, the official X site has recently been implemented a new dark mode that chooses a completely black backgrounda change that many users don’t like.
For many, this new X design It is more aggressive for the eyes, especially for those with astigmatism Under other visual conditions, white letters may appear with a bright red “halo” effect.
This phenomenon occurs in high-contrast configurations like this one, with white letters on a black background; on the contrary, the clear way, which presents black letters on a white background, is more readable.
Therefore, users are now faced with two unfavorable options: to focus their vision in light mode due to the intense shine of the white background, or to do it using dark mode to distinguish letters on a dark background.
Just a little, the middle option was the blue theme, but that was completely removed from X and the reason is disturbing. Below is a statement from Product Owner X, Nikita Bier, the company «does not have the capacity to carry more than two colors».
We currently do not have the capacity to support more than two colors. But feedback noted: We’re trying to lighten the black on the web.

Thus, according to this executive statement, X is in such a limited position that it cannot offer its users more than two color variants; It seems like a comment that could be a joke, but it’s reality.
The most absurd thing is that this explanation lacks sentiment. If you have previously mentioned three different topics, then the work you have completed; plus it will probably cost more to dehaze blue than to maintain it. This argument would only be valid if you created a new topic from there.
Black X theme was originally introduced for the mobile version of the appwhere it is most suitable, since most new smartphones use OLED and AMOLED panels, which consume less battery and offer excellent contrast in the dark “real” way.
However, OLED panels still do not completely dominate in the computer environment, where their advantages are not so obvious and precisely because of the dark mode with a blue tone, they are preferred by these users.
The good news is that It is possible to restore the blue version of dark mode; After all, it’s so easy to wonder why Elon Musk’s company can’t do the same.
The trick is to use the Control Panel extension for Twitter, which included a new feature that allows us to go back to the previous dark mode again.
Once the extension is installed, just click the button and in the «X Fixes» section, select the «Clear Night» option in the «Dark Mode Theme».
