The 39th African Union Summit took place over the weekend in Addis Ababa. On the table, the priority was climate change, the main chapter in each specification, for each major investment on the continent. But conflicts also occupied a significant part of the agenda, from the Sahel to Sudan, from Somaliland to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where “Rwanda” continues to dominate in the East, despite this “peace” being one of President (PR) Trump’s seven banners.
In this particular, it is worth highlighting that despite the Washington Accords for Peace and Prosperityin June, and ratified in December, between DRC and Rwanda, the M23 rebels continue to occupy territory in the east of the country and exploit mines, using child labor, Blood Diamondbut without diamonds. The nickel now all goes to cell phones and electric cars. Also point out that already in all forums of this size, the complaint about the main beneficiary of this cheating, being the PR of Rwanda himself, Paul Kagame, is nothing new!
The subject will move from the reports of the United Nations (UN), UNICEF and other international organizations, to the opening of the news programs, due to the evident evidence that is beginning to emerge about “blood coltan” and exploitation of child labor. These conditions that we see in the movies, plus the underground work, without supports and that you don’t see. And where there is no image, there is no news! But is this the case, and why?
Because the importance that Angola and the Lobito Corridor have for the “Trump prospector” is a priority for his gluttony. This is the Africa that suits it and Angola as a point of projection of force towards the interior will allow one selfish person to eliminate another.
I speculate about what Trump might do to unmask Kagame, and assume himself as new.”Peace Lord with benefits.” Everything, absolutely everything, especially now, increasingly cornered. Plus the Atlantic importance of this important Portuguese-speaking speaker, in fact, confirms everything Nick Checker said and reported in “Africa, a ‘transition hemisphere’ for Trump!” about the importance of Angola for the American strategy in Africa.
The AU Summit did not address, in the “DRC” debate, the specificities highlighted here, perhaps because it felt powerless and even embarrassed, for an African issue, to surpass Africans and confirm the inverted logics of the conflicts. The same UN reports also record that the greater the instability in Eastern DRC, the greater the flows of coltan, gold, tin and tungsten towards Europe, the United States and China. Everyone wins, why bother?
