Former US President Barack Obama criticized the lack of shame and decorum in the country’s political discourse, responding for the first time to the controversy over the racist video shared by Donald Trump in which he appeared portrayed as a monkey.
“There is a kind of clowning going on on social media and television”Obama said podcast by commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, released on Saturday (February 14) evening.
“And what’s true is that there doesn’t seem to be any shame about it among people who used to think you had to have some kind of decorum and sense of propriety and respect for the position, right?“
Obama was responding to a question about the controversial video, which has since been deleted from the president’s accounts, where he appeared portrayed as a monkey, just like his wife and former first lady, Michelle Obama.
