TVDE driver detained on suspicion of rape in Lisbon

A TVDE driver was arrested last Thursday, February 12, on suspicion of having raped a woman who had hired the service through the online platform to get from work, in Lisbon, to home, in Cascais, the day before.

According to a statement from the Judiciary Police, the alleged violation took place on Wednesday in a remote location in Monsanto, where the driver went in the middle of the service.

“After the events, the woman went to a hospital, and the PSP took care of the incident”, informs the PJ, which was immediately activated. The investigation allowed the collection of traces of the crime, which were subjected to forensic examination by the Scientific Police Laboratory of the Judiciary Police.
“Once the suspect was identified, he was located, interrogated and detained”, says this police force, concluding that the 36-year-old man was in pre-trial detention.
