Marco Rubio promotes “Trump’s worldview” on visit to Europe

During his speech at the Munich Security Conference, Rubio maintained that the United States prefers to advance together with its European allies in the remodeling of the world order.

And although we are willing, if necessary, to do it alone, we prefer and hope to do it together with you, our friends in Europe”.

In his speech, the official criticized “massive immigration”, climate policies that – as he said – “impoverish our people” and the “madness” of free trade that deindustrialized Europa y USA “for the benefit of rivals and adversaries.”

On migrationpointed out that it is “a crisis that is transforming and destabilizing societies throughout the West.”

He added that we must “regain control of our borders,” which “is not xenophobia, it is not hatred, it is a fundamental exercise of sovereignty.”

The positioning marked a turnaround with respect to the speech given a year earlier in the same forum by the vice president JD Vancewho had accused European leaders of putting the continent’s security at risk due to their immigration and regulatory policies.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenreacted by stating:

I was very reassured by the Secretary of State’s speech.”, whom he described as “a good friend.”

Rubio’s criticism of the UN: Venezuela, Gaza and Ukraine

Rubio also attacked the United Nations Organization (UN), noting that “in most of the most urgent matters it has no answers and has played practically no role.”

He questioned that the institution has not stopped the conflicts in Gaza y Ukraine nor the iranian nuclear programwhich was attacked by Israel and the United States last June.

Likewise, he maintained that the HIM did not act against what he described as the “threat to our security” posed by the Venezuelan “narcoterrorist dictator” Nicolas Madurocaptured by US forces on January 3 under accusations of drug trafficking.

In parallel, Washington promotes its call Peace Boardan organization sponsored by Trump that has invited dozens of countries on a discretionary basis and that, according to Rubio, seeks to assume conflict resolution functions.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Rubio stated that he does not know if the Russians “are serious about ending the war.”

Russia announced a new round of talks on February 17 and 18 in Ginebra with representatives of Ukraine and the United States.

For his part, the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenskyreiterated in Munich his call for faster delivery of air defense missiles.

Most attacks are directed against our power plants and other critical infrastructure. There is not a single plant left in Ukraine that has not been damaged by Russian attacks”.

Furthermore, he accused his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putinof being a “slave of war” who does not lead a “normal life,” and said he was ready for “an agreement that brings real peace,” as long as there are security guarantees from the United States and Europa.
