A pilot from the airline Latam was arrested this Monday morning (9th) on a plane at Congonhas airport, in São Paulo, on charges of leading a network of sexual abuse of minors eight years ago. Sérgio Antônio Lopes, 60 years old, was already in the cabin of the plane, heading to Santos Dumont airport, in Rio de Janeiro, when he was approached by police to carry out an action within Operation Fasten Your Belts, which investigates, among other crimes, rape of vulnerable people, favoring prostitution and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
According to investigations by the fourth Police Station for the Repression of Pedophilia of the State Department of Homicide and Personal Protection of São Paulo, Sérgio Antônio Lopes is suspected of participating in and leading the exploitation network for at least eight years. Police say officers They discovered that the suspect took minors with false documents to motels. A 55-year-old woman was also arrested, accused of enticing her own granddaughters, aged 10, 12 and 14, to the pilot in exchange for payment.
