António José Seguro will speak at a rally in Lisbon, at 9:30 pm, this Thursday. The candidate supported by the PS will have figures from the party, as expected, namely those who have accompanied him the most in the entourage. Former ministers, DN knows, are on the agenda. Still, the main PS figures are not expected. The presence of the PS general secretary, José Luís Carneiro, is not expected. The PS leader will take part in an initiative in Porto, the socialists’ press office announced, and party sources say that Carneiro will likely hold a rally with Seguro in the city of Porto, flanked by many local mayors and the district federation. The secretary general was very vocal in supporting the candidate in January, but after the first round he has opted for discretion in this regard.
However, the broad scope of Insurance and its more comprehensive positioning, claiming, from the outset, to be independent It is the main reason why the PS prefers not to dominate the media space and intervene in the candidate’s speech.
From what DN was able to learn from official sources from the remaining political parties, no party leaders are expected at the rally in Lisbon either. Despite having demonstrated, right after the first electoral round, that they supported Seguro, the senior representatives of the PCP, Livre, PAN and Bloco de Esquerda, in this case Paulo Raimundo, Rui Tavares, Inês de Sousa Real and José Manuel Pureza, will not be represented at the event at Forum Lisboa, since much support from other quarters has emerged: there is a high representation of social democrats and centrists with Seguro.
António José Seguro dedicates this Thursday to two related themes: entrepreneurship and the retention of young people in the territory. Visited the DNA Cascais business incubator, which physically hosts 34 startups. At 3:00 pm, he will be at the Unicor Factory in Alvalade and at 4:30 pm he will have a meeting with university students, having planned to reinforce the message for youth in a meeting with leaders of student associations in Lusófona.
