André Ventura will propose postponing the second round of the presidential elections, according to SIC.
“The second round was already foreseen in the calendar, but this is what was not foreseen. What I notice in the country is that the last concern of people on the ground is the elections. People are without homes, without assets, they are feeling ill. I think it is not unfair or disproportionate to say that we have part of the country in a state of calamity and that we do not have the conditions to have elections scheduled and contested at this time”, he said this Thursday at a campaign event in Silves.
The vote, in which the candidate supported by Chega competes with the socialist António José Seguro, is scheduled for this Sunday, February 8th.
