Lince Capital leads investment of 1.4 million in Zen8 to revolutionize swimmer training

British startup Zen8 raised 1.4 million euros in a round Seed led by Lince Capital, with participation from Celtis, Beta Capital and Lx Launch.

The financing is intended to complete the development of its dry swimming training product, reinforce the team and expand the subsidiary in Portugal, which will act as a technological and expansion base for Europe.

The company, founded by Victor Jarland and Charlotte Pegg, develops ZWIM, an integrated and portable solution that aims to replicate technical and physical principles of pool training in a dry environment, combining intelligent hardware, feedback real-time and gamified training.

Zen8 positions ZWIM in the new category of Connected Swim Trainingwith an initial focus on triathletes and later expansion to the swimmers and fitness market.

The amount raised will be used to complete the product, hire around 11 employees over the next 12 months — mainly in product and R&D — and increase investments in marketing and sales.

The Portuguese operation plays a strategic role in the technological development and international expansion of the startup, says the statement.

“We are developing ZWIM to lead the category. With Lince Capital and our co-investors by our side, we now have the ability to launch the first ZWIM experience, expand product and R&D and deliver measurable swimming performance improvements on a large scale”, says Victor Jarland, Founder & CEO of Zen8, quoted in the document.

Tomás Lavin Peixe, Head of Venture Capital at Lince Capital, cannot hide his enthusiasm “for leading this round and supporting a visionary team that combines technological innovation and passion for sport”.
