Data platform Dealroom, a global leader in startup and venture capital news, announces a new investment round led by Portuguese manager Indico Capital Partners, with participation from Rabobank and investors including Beringea, Shoe Investments and Knight Capital.
The transaction will accelerate the company’s international expansion with an initial focus on our United States and will fund our active data ownership, artificial intelligence capabilities and product development. These measures aim to consolidate Dealroom’s position as a reference resource for monitoring and analyzing technological ecosystems.
Stephan de Moraes, Managing Partner of Indico Capital Partners, emphasized his satisfaction with receiving Dealroom’s portfolio as a manager. “You are committed to the Portuguese ecosystem and that includes a physical presence. By establishing a writer and dedicated team here in Lisbon, we will become an integral part of our technology community.”
According to Moraes, the combination of real-time dice and AI sets Dealroom apart by offering “predictive intelligence rather than just historical relationships.”
Yoram Wijngaarde, founder and CEO of Dealroom, states that “more than 100 tech ecosystems around the world have committed to Dealroom to help meditate and demonstrate the growth of these tech ecosystems – from Austin to Astana, from New York to Nairobi. And Dealroom, founded in September 2013, collects and processes real-time data on funding rounds, valuations and business models and offers tools benchmarking and predictive intelligence for investors, businesses and public entities. The platform is designed to work with local governments and ecosystems, allowing it to create real estate coverage and databases not available in traditional sources.
