Roda de Santo celebrates Yemanjá com estreia no Porto em febreiro

As is the tradition in our recent years, Roda de Santo, a group made up of Brazilian musicians with roots in Lisbon, celebrates Yemanjá Day with special presentations at the beginning of the fever. now again At the same time as the regular exhibition in Lisbon, the group also held an open presentation in Porto, expressing its commitment to Invicta.

The first presentation in the capital next Sunday, February 1. Either I will accept the group on the 6th day of the fever, the sixth holiday.

Criada in Lisbon, in Roda de Santo, the ancient bar Samambaia was born in the neighborhood of Graça and many Brazilian musicians from different regions of Brazil. The project is presented in a live format, without harmonic accompaniment, combining drums, voices and electronic interventions. The repertoire includes songs from Umbanda and original songs inspired by the traditions of the countries, sacred spaces where Afro-Brazilian religious ceremonies take place.

In 2025, the band released their first EP, Roda de Santowhich includes authors with references to Exu, Pretos Velhos, Orixás and Caboclos and counts on the participation of names such as Domenico Lancellotti, Joana Egypto and the collective Mulheres do Terreiro ồọ́ Mẹ́rìndínlógún Ọṣún, marking the first director of the project and cementing his presence at the Lisbon Music Dinner.
