Update: Be prepared for freezing rain in Chenango and Broome counties by 3 a.m. Wednesday

An updated advisory was issued by the National Weather Service at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday for freezing rain until 3:30 a.m. for Chenango and Broome counties.

“Surface temperatures are in the low to mid 30s late tonight in the area. A few colder spots are at or just below freezing. Periods of rain, freezing rain, freezing drizzle and fog are expected over the next few hours. Untreated surfaces may already be very icy and slippery. Use caution when walking or driving tonight. Prepare for possible ice, ice on roadways or on other roadways,” weather service.
