Andy Katz’s Top 10 Men’s Basketball Plays to Watch for Week 7

As Week 7 of men’s college basketball continues, here are Andy Katz’s top 10 must-watch games.

1. Houston vs. Arkansas

How to watch: Newark, 5:30 p.m. ET Saturday on CBS

This game should be an absolute battle. Arkansas is playing its best basketball, and Houston needs a big win.

2. St. John’s vs. Kentucky

How to watch: Atlanta, 12:30 p.m. ET Saturday on CBS

Rick Pitino faced the Red Storm against his old school and desperately needed a win. The Wildcats are finally on defense, which will be a challenge for the inconsistent shooting Red Storm.

3. Auburn vs. Purdue

How to watch: Indianapolis, 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday on the Peacock

The Tigers have the athletes to solve the boilerplate problem. But they may not have an answer for Braden Smith.

4. Duke vs. Texas Tech

How to watch: New York, 8 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN

The Red Raiders need a high-profile Quad 1 win. But this match was played in North Cameroon. Scouts have Cameron Boozer-J.T. Love the Toppin fight.

5. Louisville in Tennessee

How to watch: 7:00 p.m. ET Tuesday on ESPN

This game matches two of the best freshmen in the game, even though they don’t play the same position. Playmaker Mikel Brown Jr. will be a tough face for the Vols. Nate Ament may be around for Louisville, but the biggest issue for the Cardinals might be protecting Ja’Coby Gillespie.

6. Ohio State vs. North Carolina

How to watch: Atlanta, Saturday at 3pm on CBS/Paramount+

The Buckeyes found a way to win late. And Bruce Thornton will be coaching late in the game for Ohio State. Caleb Wilson continues to be the star of the Tar Heels and a tough player for every opposing team to guard.

7. Butler at UConn

How to watch: Tuesdays at 8.30pm on Peacock:

Can the Bulldogs repeat their offensive results at UConn, even if they survive Providence in double overtime to open the Big East? This will be a pretend-or-contest type game for Butler.

8. Arizona State at UCLA

How to watch: Wednesdays at 10:30pm on FS1

The Sun Devils came back at 19 to beat Santa Clara. UCLA is losing to Gonzaga in Seattle. A Moe Odum-Donovan Dent matchup should be very interesting.

9. Oregon vs. Gonzaga

How to watch: Portland, 6 p.m. ET Sunday on the Peacock

The Ducks are getting healthy and this is their last chance to win a quadruple 1 before the Big Ten starts again. The Zags are coming off a win over the Bruins. Nate Beatle will have his hands full with Graham Ike.

10. Wisconsin vs. Villanova

How to watch: Milwaukee, 8 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN

The Wildcats couldn’t hang with Michigan. This will be another tough Big Ten assignment. The Badgers should be able to continue to get the shots they want against a stingy defense.
