What was the attendance for the opening game of the Syracuse ACC basketball team vs. Clemson?


Syracuse, NY – Syracuse University announced a crowd of 16,245 for SU’s ACC men’s basketball opener against Clemson on New Year’s Eve.

The number represents tickets sold for the event.

Syracuse lost to Clemson 64-61.

Donnie Freeman, who had missed Syracuse’s previous nine games with a foot injury, scored all 18 of his second-half points, but his potential game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds was off target.

Syracuse is averaging 15,659 tickets sold through the first 10 home games of the 2025-26 season, seventh in the nation.

The Orange will return to the JMA Wireless Dome on Jan. 13 to face Florida State at 9 p.m.
