The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory at 11 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday for North St. Lawrence, Northern Franklin, Eastern Clinton, Western Clinton and Southwestern St. Lawrence.
“Icy conditions are being reported in valleys across northern New York. As more rain moves through the region and temperatures hover around 32 degrees, hazardous travel may continue into the early morning hours before temperatures rise,” the weather service explained.
The weather service adds, “Although this event is expected to be short-lived, if conditions worsen, a winter weather advisory may be necessary. Please monitor local media and the National Weather Service for further statements.”
