Auburn, N.Y. – Two men who say they assaulted officers at the Auburn Correctional Facility have been arrested, state police announced Friday.
Errol Fowler-Graham, 34, and Shaquan Brown, 33, attacked officers on Aug. 21, 2024, troopers said in a news release. Several police officers were injured and taken to hospital with one person out of work for a long time, they said.
On Tuesday, Fowler-Graham and Brown were arraigned in Cayuga County Court and charged with:
- Three counts of second-degree assault (injuring a person confined in a correctional facility)
- Three counts of second-degree assault (intent to cause injury to an officer)
Brown was sentenced in New York in 2020 to 18 to 21 years in prison for burglary, assault and grand theft, according to state records.
Fowler-Graham was sentenced to 32 years in Erie County in 2010 for rape and robbery, according to state records.
Fowler-Graham is being held at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus (Seneca County). Fowler is being held at Lakeview Correctional Facility in Brocton (Chautauqua County).
