Readily Available Weapons Turn Disagreements Into Murder (Your Letters)

To the editor:

Your staff reporters told the powerful stories of 14 people who were victims of homicide in the past year (“Syracuse lost 14 people to homicides in 2025: Here are the lives lost,” Jan. 9, 2026). I commend the staff writers for listing 11 out of 14 as a “death shot”. The use of direct expression in these links helped me notice the match. We must change our society to allow readily available guns to be used as tools in conflicts leading to murder.
