The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 1:47 a.m. Sunday in effect from 7 p.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Wednesday for Onondaga and Madison counties.
The Weather Service comments: “Strong lake effect is possible. Total snow accumulations of up to 7 inches or more in the most persistent snow bands on the lake. Wind gusts up to 45 mph create blowing and drifting snow and greatly reduce visibility.”
“Travel may be very difficult to impossible. Hazardous conditions could affect the Tuesday morning and evening commute. Gusty winds could down trees,” the weather service said. “Watch the latest forecast for updates on this situation.”
