‘Matilda the Musical’ kicks off the high school musical season this week


STEAM High School students perform “Matilda the Musical” this weekend.

The musical Matilda is the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to stand up and change her own destiny. It tells the story of a brilliant young girl named Matilda Wormwood who uses her telekinetic powers to overcome her neglectful parents and cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull.

With the help of her kind teacher, Miss Honey, Matilda learns to stand up for herself and others, ultimately changing her own destiny.

Performances will be at 7pm Friday January 16th, 2pm Saturday January 17th at the Everson Museum of Art Auditorium, 401 Harrison Street, Syracuse NY 13202.

Tickets are available in advance at $7 online through Thursday or at the door for $10 general admission and $8 for students.

Syracuse.com will post information provided by schools about their parades throughout the season.
