Lake Effect Snowstorm Continues Across Central NY Today; Another 2 feet of snow possible

Syracuse, NY – The lake-effect snowstorm that started Monday night will continue today, with another 1 to 2 feet of snow possible in parts of Central New York by the New Year.

What meteorologists are calling a “long-lasting event” has already seen 7 inches of snow in parts of central New York.

Snow blows off Lake Ontario in narrow bands that can oscillate over time, spreading the snow like a fire hose. This means that snow totals can vary significantly over several kilometres.
