
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College softball enters the 2026 season with national expectations after the Indians were ranked No. 12 in the NJCAA Division II softball preseason rankings presented by Netting Professionals.
Murray State College was ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, followed by Copiah-Lincoln Community College at No. 2, St. Johns River State College at No. 3, Jones College at No. 4 and Des Moines Area Community College at No. 5.
Itawamba is one of four Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference programs recognized in the preseason rankings, joining Co-Lin (No. 2), Jones (No. 4), Pearl River Community College (No. 7) and Northwest Mississippi Community College (No. 20).
The preseason standings follow a 2025 campaign in which the Indians finished 30-21 and advanced to the third round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
The season begins Tuesday, February 3 at Northwest Shoals (AL) Community College. The Indians will face No. 3 St. Johns River State College during the Gulf Coast State JUCO Showdown on Saturday, February 7 in Florida.
The ICC will make its home debut in 2026 on Wednesday, February 11th when it hosts Jackson State (TN) Community College in a two-game homestand starting at 1pm at Andy Kirk Field.
