Heisman quarterback Fernando Mendoza delivered in the biggest moments for the Hoosiers Monday. He had 186 passing yards and negative rushing yards along with one touchdown in the game. That touchdown came on a 4th and 5 drive where Mendoza broke several tackles before diving into the end zone to put the Hoosiers up by 10 in the fourth quarter.
Wide receiver Charlie Becker also came up big. He made multiple catches on third and fourth downs to keep Indiana’s drives alive and ultimately keep Miami ahead. He had four catches for 65 yards. This is the Hoosiers first college football national title.
