Former Syracuse QB Kyle McCord has a new NFL home

Syracuse, NY — Former Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord hasn’t been an NFL free agent for long.

The The Green Bay Packers signed McCord on the reserve/future contract on Tuesday.

McCord, a native of Mt. The Laurel, New Jersey native did not make the hometown Eagles’ active 53-man roster for the 2025 season.

McCord is moving to the Packers, where he will have a chance to compete for the backup spot behind starter Jordan Love with Desmond Ridder.

Packers linebacker Malik Willis is expected to continue in free agency.

McCord led the nation in passing during the 2024 season with 4,779 yards, setting the single-season record for both ACC and Syracuse quarterbacks.

He also set a single-season record at Syracuse with 34 touchdowns in 2024.
